A ready-made website is a professionally designed site that starts from a finished design, then gets tailored to your logo, colours, words and photos. It's faster and more affordable than a custom build, and far less work than doing it yourself. Mine are called Starter websites, start from $1,000 + GST, and are usually live in about a week.

The idea is simple: most of the design thinking is already done, so you get a polished result without paying for a blank canvas. Here's what that looks like in practice, and how to tell if it's right for you.

What "ready-made" actually means

The phrase gets used for very different things, so it's worth being clear.

  • A DIY template is a theme you buy or pick inside a builder, then set up yourself. You do the work.
  • A ready-made website, the way I do it, is a design I've already built, set up for you. I do the work.
  • A custom website is designed from a blank canvas, around your business. We do it together, over more time.

My ready-made websites aren't themes from a store. Every design in the range was designed and built by me, and they're only available through Coco Creatives. You get the same quick-loading, phone-friendly build as my custom sites, with a proven layout as the starting point.

The designs you can choose from

Each design is a full, working website you can click through before you decide. Right now the range covers:

DesignMade forSee it in action
TidemarkPilates, yoga and wellness studiosWebsites for Pilates studios
MarramPhysios and allied healthWebsites for physiotherapists
Linen & VowWedding celebrantsWebsites for wedding celebrants
Wild BloomFloristsWebsites for florists

Each one is shown as a concept business I designed (Tidemark Pilates, Marram Physio, Linen & Vow and the Wild Bloom Co. florist brand), so you can see how it works with real-looking content before your own goes in. More designs are on the way, including trades and cafes.

If your industry isn't listed, ask anyway. A good layout often works across more than one kind of business.

What you get with a ready-made website

Here's what's included at $1,000 + GST, or 2 payments of $500:

  • Your choice of design from the range
  • Your logo, colours and fonts carried through the site
  • Your words and photos added
  • A contact form and click-to-call
  • Your booking system connected
  • Mobile-friendly, with Google basics set up
  • Domain and hosting set up, with nothing technical left for you to do
  • Editable WordPress that you own outright
  • Live in about a week

That's for a one-page website. Extra pages, content writing and more involved bookings are quoted up front, and everything is listed on my pricing page.

How the process works

Four steps, and most of the waiting is on content, not design:

  1. Pick the design that suits your business. Not sure? We'll have a quick chat and I'll point you to the best fit.
  2. Send me your logo, photos and the basics. No words ready? I can write them for you as an add-on.
  3. Tailor. I set everything up with your brand, connect your domain and contact or booking form, and send you a preview link.
  4. Launch. One round of tweaks, then your site goes live.

The quicker your content arrives, the quicker you launch. My guide on what to prepare before building a website has the full list.

Who a ready-made website suits

In my experience, a ready-made website is a great fit if:

  • You're new, or relaunching, and need a professional site quickly
  • Your budget is tight, but a DIY builder isn't how you want to spend your evenings
  • A proven layout suits your business, and you'd rather have something tested than something experimental
  • You're in one of the industries above, so the design already answers the questions your customers ask

It's usually not the right fit if you want something that looks completely different, need ecommerce or a bigger site, or want your website designed around a very specific way of working. That's when a custom website, from $3,500 + GST, makes more sense. You get two clickable homepage directions, motion built in and a site shaped entirely around your business.

And if you only need one page for an ad campaign, a landing page at $1,500 + GST is built for that.

Can I change the design?

Small changes, yes. Swapping sections around, removing what you don't need or adding a page are all part of tailoring it. If you want something that looks completely different, I'll tell you honestly that custom is the better fit.

You're also not locked in. Lots of businesses start with a ready-made site and go custom as they grow, and your content, domain and hosting carry straight over. If you're weighing that decision up now, I've written about custom website vs template in more detail.

Frequently asked questions

Is a ready-made website just a template?

Not the kind you buy off a theme store. Each design was designed and built by me, is only available through Coco Creatives, and is tailored to your brand before launch.

How much does a ready-made website cost?

My ready-made (Starter) websites start from $1,000 + GST for a one-page site, or 2 payments of $500. Extra pages, bookings or content writing are quoted up front on my pricing page.

How long does a ready-made website take?

Usually about a week from receiving your logo, photos and words. Content is what slows most websites down.

Will other businesses have the same website?

Other businesses may start from the same design, but yours carries your logo, colours, fonts, words and photos, so it looks like yours. If you need something one of a kind, a custom website is the way to go.

Why not just use Wix or Squarespace?

You can, but you'll spend your evenings fighting a page builder, and it usually looks like it. With a ready-made website I do the setup and the fiddly bits, and you get a site that looks professionally designed because it was.

The bottom line

A ready-made website gives you a professionally designed, fully owned site in about a week, without the cost of a custom build or the hours of DIY. If you're not sure which design suits you, or whether ready-made is enough for your business, tell me about it and I'll point you in the right direction.
