The brief.
Wild Bloom Co. is a fictional florist I created to show a complete identity, from the first sketch of a logo to the guidelines a business would hand to its printer. The idea was a florist with a slow hand: seasonal stems, loose shapes, and arrangements that look as if they were gathered on a long walk home.
The identity needed to feel kept rather than designed. I took my cues from the old botanical print room, with engraved irises, inked flourishes and pressed paper, and paired them with soft-focus, film-grain photography so the brand feels like a memory of flowers rather than a catalogue of them.
How it came together.
Logo suite
The primary logo, The Garland, sets a daisy between two curling leaf scrolls above a flared serif wordmark. Around it sits a family of supporting marks: an iris in an oval window, a looped ribbon monogram for weddings, a round seal for stickers and stamps, a W and B bound by a leaf, and a single iris sprig for the smallest spaces. Each one shares the same engraved line, so any of them can stand in for the brand.
Colour and type
The palette is taken from the workbench: Pressed Paper, Iris Ink and Moss as the core, with Petal Blush, Marigold, Dusk Iris, Lichen and Night Soil arriving the way a single stem of colour lifts a white bouquet. Four typefaces each have one job: Marcellus for display, Newsreader for reading, Pinyon Script for the personal note and DM Mono for labels and care cards.
Brand guidelines
Everything is documented in a 30-page A4 landscape brand book with seven chapters, each opening on a block of brand colour. It covers the concept and values, logo rules for clear space, sizing and misuse, colour values for screen and print, the type hierarchy, ornaments, photo style, tone of voice and real applications, from embossed business cards and bouquet wrap to Instagram and the website.
